Summer is flying and on Sunday morning after the holiday weekend I looked up at my husband and thanked him for making it amazing. It is not like he can take all the credit for the weeks we have had so far but he adjusts his schedule to be there for them. He drives an hour each way to be with us each night. He runs from event to event and I really am grateful.
When I say this summer has been one that can go down in history I am not saying everything has been delivered on a silver platter but some how we have been able to make ice cream out of plain ol milk.
With my kids getting older and hopefully me getting a little wiser life moves a bit smoother. (sometimes)
We are gearing up for an full weekend of family and friends. It is the perfect topping to a not so perfect week. The humidity and rain have forced us to stay indoors and for a family of 8 that can result in some “your in my space”. We also received some news that a very dear friend of ours will be beginning the race of her life. Yep a race against cancer. We are holding her close in our hearts and plan to be there cheering her on because she is such a huge part of our life and we love her.
So hence the black and white images. What does a mommy photographer do when life is spinning out of control. Well she hangs the background paper that has been sitting on her floor since April and she yells “Anyone that wants their picture taken put a pair of jeans on and meet me in the studio!” and guess what they do. So we laughed and I clicked my camera. The images that came out of that session with my kids are therapy for my heart. I love them and I needed them.
Friday we will be celebrating the life of my sweet nephew Brayden who we lost way too soon to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). My sister and her family throw a golf outing to celebrate his life and to raise money to help college students with the their first year of school. Students who go the extra mile.
