OK it is HOT! I mean really really HOT….so hot that it is difficult to be outside and that is HOT! It pretty much has not been like this ever, around here anyway! Tomorrow relief is expected, it will finally be below 100! YAHOOOO!!!! We did what we could to make the 4th a memorable one and thanks to friends and family we succeeded!
We are taking the days a bit slower….I am not completely loosing my mind if all the things I had planned to get done in the morning are not done because we always have the afternoon. The heat has given us a reason to go to bed alittle earlier and snuggle in the house with the AC. All is good and although there are days when the kids and I do not see eye to eye, I so enjoy them just being here! Being home.
Over the past couple of weeks there have been opportunities to leave the house with just a couple of kids for Dr’s appts. I always love when I am out with just a couple of my kids because I can focus on them and talk to them without 5 other people entering the conversation. Grace has been one of the kids because she has had the appt’s and she continues to blow my mind. She is no longer a lap baby when there are strangers around. Although she still can not walk independently she makes her way around the room with a big smile and a hi! When there are other children playing she demands to be right in the middle of the group.
I love it…I love to see her independence. I love to see my girl making friends with others, blowing kisses and socializing. In the beginning of her little life I was not sure what the future would hold. Would she talk? Would she have friends? Would she be independent? Although there are still unanswered questions she continues to amaze me with her strong personality and her WORDS! Yes, I was never quite sure if she would talk….it was not a guarentee. We have litterally been working on words since she was 3 months old. That is 2 years and 3 months (who’s counting!) and let me tell you, I had many days where I was just not sure. I can report, my girl has WORDS! Lots of them and when she is amoungst peers she uses them. My heart pretty much leaps out of my chest everytime I hear her talk.
That is good stuff, great stuff!
