Here we are bidding farewell to another weekend and welcoming Monday. I am always sad to see the freedom of the weekend go but at the same time I look forward to the structure of Monday through Friday. Does that even make sense?
This weekend was the celebration of the Southside Irish Parade here in Chicago. We had a lot going on Saturday so I decided this year we would sit the parade out. What a mistake that was! I am so mad at myself. I tried to reverse my decision at 10:00am only to realize that it was already 11:00 and the parade had begun. BUMMER!!!!!! The day was perfect and I was disappointed.
So….the only thing you can do is pull out all the stops! I made a vow to myself today that all holidays for the rest of 2012 will be completely all out. Who cares if I am tired or have a schedule that doesn’t stop! My kids are not going to remember that. They will remember that Mom did not make it to the Southside Irish parade. So lesson learned on this beautiful Sunday! There is plenty of time to catch up on rest, if there is a holiday celebrate it! I am in!
First bonfire tonight! No marshmallows so next best thing! Peeps! Peep smores! they were fantastic and so festive. Right?
Best of all I got the most awesome card this weekend from my friends Steve and Ryan! Seriously a St Pats Day card with a chicken! Now that is awesome! Stay tuned for more news on the chickens. I hope to get the coop painted this week and then schedule the delivery of the birds. Sooo excited!
