As I sit here tonight I set the mood……Fire in the fireplace, my favorite…Ingrid Michealson playing and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven! (Gluten free of course! – Recipe to come)  Nothing says home more to me then these three things.  I needed them tonight, we have been busy….so busy there has not been a lot of time to pause.  That is what I am doing tonight because I am still so excited and I want to share.
Grace and her perfect red rocking chair

Life has been good and I am so grateful!  There are so many things to come and I can not wait to tell you all about them.  This year is so different, 2012 is about growth in the Driscoll house.  I feel like the kids are growing out of everything.  Their thoughts and feelings are changing as well as their height!  I am sad to see these babies grow up but excited to see what they grow into!  They are amazing beings and we are blessed to have them in our lives!

This chair is by far Graces favorite thing right now.  She will sit in it for hours if I let her.

Family time: Liam spending time with me while I made dinner

Photography is taking off….I love it!  I love every minute of it.  I love documenting memories for others.  Pictures are so important to our family and I look forward to happily providing them to others.   Part of growing in photography is just plain taking pictures so I started brainstorming on how I can continue to challenge myself.  Well I had the most excellent idea…..I contacted my favorite people on etsy as well as Facebook and asked if they were 1/ interested in a photographer and 2/ interested in my daughter as a model.  Can I tell you I have received so many responses extending there product to my daughter and I with open arms.  They are thrilled to have her be a part of their advertising campaigns!  I am so humbled but the response.  Who would have thought, my daughter would be welcomed in such a way!

Acceptance is an amazing thing.  We all end up feeling warm and fuzzy when we receive it.  It is something we can all give but often don’t take the time to notice.  A hug, smile, high five what ever it is….accepting others is something we all need to do a better job of.   I am witnessing it and it is wonderful!   I love my kids with all my heart and to me they are amazing humans just as they are and it warms my heart when others see them the same way.  All of us feel the same….no matter what the story might be.  We have all felt it, that uneasy I am not sure I have been accepted feeling and it just plain stinks!  I know I for one am changing that.

Dinner time: Spending time talking together over dinner

Family and accepting others

My children gave me that opportunity.  They told me in their own way it is not about who wears the cutest shoes or has the nicest car.  It is about opening your heart, letting people in and accepting them for who they are.

I am happy……and can not wait to share with you all these amazing people who think my daughter is a princess.

My is she growing……she is not my baby anymore.  She is a 2 year old.  She is climbing down stairs and opening fireplace doors, getting into cabinets and spilling glasses of water.  She is ripping up magazines and crying at the door when her brothers go out to play.  She is 2, and behaving like a 2 year old.  I remember dreading this stage with my boys.  It just made life harder then it already was, but I see things differently no.  You see it is a blessing that your child acts their age.  It is a blessing that your child has an opinion.  It is a blessing that your child has the motor ability to open the cupboard door and pull out your tupperware.  They are all blessings that I am so thankful for!  I am loving every second of it because my girl is 2 and it shows!
